The Great River Journey begins in Whitehorse and unfolds over seven days and 600 kilometres (373 miles) of wilderness leading to Dawson City.
Day 1 - Whitehorse to Upper Labarge Lodge
Today you fly into the Capital of the Yukon Territory. You transfer to the hotel and start your exploration. Walk to the banks of the Yukon River by the White Pass and Yukon Route Station.
Day 2 - Whitehorse to Lake Labarge
Today you are met by the Great River Journey guides for the start of you 375 mile journey. You will depart on a tour of Whitehorse and begin to gain an understanding of how gold and the Yukon River lead to the development of this area. Later travel by floatplane to Upper Labarge Lodge where you stay for the night. (D)
Day 3 -
Labarge to Homestead Lodge
Today you will travel by riverboat (or kayak part of the way) from Upper Labarge Lodge down the “Thirty Mile” section of the Yukon River. A floatplane meets the group near Steamboat Island. Guests enjoy a one-hour flight over the Yukon River to Homestead Lodge near Fort Selkirk. (B, L D)
Day 4 - Homestead Lodge to Wilderness Outpost
This morning Guests travel by riverboat from Homestead Lodge to Wilderness Outpost. Opportunities abound for wildlife viewing along this truly wild section of the journey. Guests “rough it” in comfortable tented accommodations. (B, L D)
Day 5 - Wilderness Outpost to Dawson City
After breakfast we travel by riverboat from Wilderness Outpost to Dawson City. The boat trip includes a shore lunch and wildlife viewing opportunities. Upon arrival in Dawson City, you are welcomed at their accommodation within the historic town site. Tonight take in action at Dimond Tooth Gertie’s or enjoy as the Gaslight Follies. Your Great River Journey ends tonight. (B, L, D)
Day 6 - Dawson City
Tour Dawson City today and learn the greatest gold rush in history. See Bonanza Creek where it all started. Later today venture to Robert Service's cabin and enjoy the classic tales from the "Bard of the North".
Day 7 - Dawson City Departure
Today you depart Dawson City. You may fly home or continue on into Alaska and enhance your vacation. Either way you will have relived on of the great adventures of all time, scene some spectacular scenery and a lifetime of memories.
