Redoubt Bay Lodge is located 50 minutes southwest of Anchorage at the entrance to Lake Clark Pass. Accessible only by floatplane, the flight to the lodge offers spectacular scenic views of the Cook Inlet and the western edge of the Kenai Peninsula. This small, rustic lodge sits on a small knoll overlooking Big River Lakes, a chain of lakes whose waters lead to the Big River and on to Cook Inlet. A resident bear population inhabits the Redoubt Bay Lodge area - one of the densest bear populations in the state. Guests have the opportunity to see bears up close as they come down to the lake to fish for salmon. Guests enjoy sport fishing for salmon, kayaking around the lakes, hiking, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat area. Three small lakeside guest cabins, a cozy hand-hewn log main lodge, and gracious staff and service make a stay at Redoubt Bay Lodge a memorable addition to your vacation.

Winterlake Lodge | Departs from Anchorage |
The Winterlake Lodge lies 198 trail miles northwest of Anchorage along Alaska's historic Iditarod Trial. The lodge sits on 15 acres overlooking Winter Lake, a finger-shaped 2-mile lake where guests land by floatplane in the summer and ski plane in the winter. Winterlake offers seclusion and spectacular scenery. Views of the Trimble Glacier and the beginnings of the Rainy Pass are visible from the lake. Behind the lodge, Wolverine Mountain offers intriguing hiking and wildlife viewing. The area is populated with many species of Alaska birds, wildflowers and berries that are difficult to see in other locales. Winterlake Lodge is also the starting point for neighboring adventures. Guest can float the Happy River, fish the Canyon Creek area, and explore the Upper Skwentna River and scenic Red Creek. The lodge always offers daily exploration opportunities. Winterlake Lodge is open year round. It is the Finger Lake checkpoint along the Iditarod Trail and open for winter adventure activities from November to April.

This 3-day wilderness excursion is the perfect addition to your northbound cruise. Spend three adventurous days at a deluxe riverfront lodge with all of the amenities. You will fly via bush plane to see the bears, fish for trophy salmon and take a boat trip to the wildlife refuge. The lodge is located in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula on 25 acres of prime mid-river property overlooking the confluence of the Kenai and Moose rivers with a backdrop of the mountains and glaciers of the Harding Icefield. The lodge's central location allows easy access the entire Kenai Peninsula. At Waterfall, nature surrounds you. The area is known for its expansive network of bays, inlets, and waterways that make the Prince of Wales Island so picturesque. Wildlife is abundant here. Guides teach guests the Alaskan style of fishing for king salmon and halibut.
